Overview

Sit down with Tom Neill as he covers the Public Accountancy Act and related rules and policies of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. Tom will illustrate specific applications of RCWs and WACs to the practice of public accounting in the state of Washington and review major provisions of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct. NOTE: This course meets the Washington Board of Accountancy’s triennial 4-hour ethics requirement for all CPAs.

Tom Neill has worked for 40+ years in small firm public accounting, primarily in the accounting and assurance field. He recently semi-retired from the firm he founded over 29 years ago, Finney Neill & Company, P.S., providing assurance and tax services to a large variety of industries, such as senior living facilities, low-income housing, manufacturing, construction contractors, fishing and seafood, real estate development, service organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and municipal corporations. Prior to forming the firm, he worked for twelve years in local CPA firms in the audit and accounting practice area working primarily with manufacturers, construction contractors, fishing and seafood businesses, insurance entities, non-profit entities and professional service firms. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1980 and received his CPA certificate in 1983. Tom is a past president of the WSCPA and has served on numerous committees. He is a past member and chair of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. He has served on the AICPA Professional Ethics Executive Committee and currently chairs the AICPA Uniform Accountancy Act Committee. Tom teaches Washington State ethics for the WSCPA and is available to teach in-house ethics presentations for company CPE needs.
