A Call for You to Reach Out to Congress to Delay BOI Reporting Requirements
December 15, 2023
by WSCPA
This morning the AICPA shared a call to action to delay beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting:
"New beneficial ownership information reporting requirements will affect small businesses including small CPA firms starting Jan. 1. The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 5119, Protect Small Business and Prevent Illicit Financial Activity Act, providing a one-year delay to the start of the rule. Reach out to your U.S. senators to ask them to pass the bill."
We encourage you to contact your U.S. senators today and ask them to pass this bill by the end of the year. If preferred, you can download and modify a sample message provided by the AICPA. (This document also includes talking points you may choose to use in your communication with your senators.)
Thank you for helping the CPA profession address this important issue.
